This class is designed for students who are comfortable in the water, able to swim a short distance face down and can float on their front and back. Students in this class will learn Fundamental Aquatic Skills: jumping into water, submerging head, combined arm and leg action, finning, sculling. Students will learn breating, arm movement techniques as preperation for freestyle, back stroke kicking, and body positioning. The child is ready for the next level when he/she can swim on the stomach face down for 12 1/2 yards.
